Print version
30.01.2014
The College of Europe, Natolin Campus<http://coleurope.eu> with the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF)<http://gmfus.org> and the Polish American Freedom Foundation<http://en.pafw.pl> are pleased to launch a call for participants for the second edition of the Warsaw Euro-Atlantic Summer Academy (WEASA). The main objectives of the Academy are presenting the political, social and economic foundations of modern democracies in the European Union and the transatlantic community and promoting them in the Eastern European countries.

WEASA goes in line with the Eastern Partnership (EaP) initiative that aims at accelerating political association, deepening economic integration, enhancing mobility of citizens and strengthening sector cooperation between the European Union and the Eastern European partner countries. It also supports the shared commitment to stability, security and prosperity of the parties concerned as well as promotes the good-neighborly relations at the inter-state, regional and world-wide levels.

The WEASA 2014 edition intends to throw light on various aspects of mobility perceived from the state, regional and global perspectives.

We thus encourage the up-and-coming policy analysts, experts, advisers, civil servants, private sector/NGO professionals and journalists from the Eastern Partnership region (i.e. Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine), dealing with the European integration, state transformation processes and/or transatlantic cooperation to participate in the consecutive WEASA edition.

The priority will be given to the candidates in their mid-career, i.e. having at least 5-year experience within a field of the WEASA mandate.

The WEASA program will be delivered by the prominent academics and analysts from the leading European and American think tanks as well as the high-level officials and practitioners.

Travel, accommodation and educational costs will be covered by WEASA.
